So some context: my Quest 3, once the novelty wore off, had just been sitting in a carrying case, just because keeping it charged was a hassle AND there wasn't really a reasonable way to store the headset when it wasn't in use. When I came across this charging dock for Quest 3, I ordered it without being entirely sure what to expect. I must say, this blew away all my expectations!First, from the first unboxing, it was clear that this was a quality product. Every item was neatly packaged with attention to detail, and the instructions were clear and helpful. The way the approached the charging needs is absolutely genuis: the dock came with USB C magnetic connectors and an accompanying cable. You just leave the magnetic dock plugged into the Quest 3's USB C port, and the way the accompanying cable is housed in the dock itself is such that as soon as you place the headset in the cradle, the cable snaps into place right away (see my second image). A helpful indicator light runs purple when the battery is charging, and turns solid blue when charging is complete. Love it!For the controllers, the dock came with rechargeable batteries (AA sized) and battery covers with magnetic pins at the bottom. It's hard to explain until you see it, but the batteries have exposed connections on the surface that the cover's pins connect to, and then the magnetic connection takes care of charging the batteries. As I said, absolute genius. On top of all of this, the docking station looks elegant and something you won't mind displaying out front proudly. Not only that, but there's an extra magnetic dongle as well so you can continue to use the headset with external battery packs, should you wish to. The dock will take care of charging both!A couple of small gripes, though not enough to dock even half a star from this product. One, the supplied USB C cable that connects the docking station to an outlet is a little too small. It's not a big deal since I had a ton of USB C cables lying around (who doesn't these days) and so I used a slightly longer one, but it might have been better if they had included a longer than 1ft cable in the box. Second, one of the controller covers was a rather snug fit, and I had to struggle a little to get it fully seated but once it did, it's been a happy camper. All in all, beautiful and functional product and I'm so glad I found this! If you're looking for a charging dock for your Meta Quest 3, this is the one!
I recently picked up the Charging Dock for the Meta Quest 3, and I have some thoughts to share. First off, I have to mention that it's a bit pricier compared to other options out there. The magnetic charger is quite strong, so I don’t have to worry about my headset slipping off or losing connection while charging. Plus, the design is sleek and fits nicely in my gaming setup without taking up too much space. It feels sturdy and well-made, which definitely adds to its value. While the price may be on the higher side, I think it’s worth it for the convenience and performance it offers. Overall, if you're looking for a reliable charging station that not only works well but also looks good, this dock is a solid choice.
This is not designed for the Q2. You can use it for the Q3 and the Q3S controllers. For the controllers though, you cannot have any silicone grips over them. That's unfortunate because I like using grips. The reason you can't have the grips on is because the controllers slide right into the controller charging slots only one way and with a perfect fit.You have to replace the controller battery cover with the cover provided because it has contacts that touch the rechargeable battery and also touch the bottom of the charging port, and they only go in one way. You also have to change your regular battery out with the provided batteries because they have metal sides that make contact with the new battery cover in order for them to charge. But once you have all of that together it works great. For the headset, this kit is provided with two charging port adapters that are magnetic. You put them in the charging port of the headset and then you have a small cable that is in the power unit. When you place the headset on the charging unit the magnetic connection is right there to magnetically link to the end start charging your headset. The other issue though is that you cannot have a headset cover on for it to set on the unit properly.I can't say enough how much I love those little magnetic charging ports that go into the headset that I mentioned above. So awesome!I have a Q3 without a headset cover, but controller grips and I also have a Q3S with a headset cover and no controller grips. That's enabled me to test this thing out in multiple ways. The best option for anyone using this is to not have any headset or controller covers. It will work perfect that way.The front of the charging unit will show you lights for the headset and for each controller. When the light is purple on any of them it means that particular piece is charging. When it turns blue it means that part if fully charged. It's a nice setup and does not take up a big amount of space. I'm really glad I got this. I just wish I could have the controller covers on when charging, but with the design it's obvious that isn't possible, but I'm ok with the that.
Love this! Easy to put together, beeps when the handles are secure in their chargers. It lights up in front under each charger to indicate charging or fully charged. Has a magnetic connection for the headset that automatically connects when docked. It's nice that everything is in one place and the whole thing is aesthetically pleasing. Charges fast! Highly recommend for your Quest 3. Arrived quickly!
I have a MetaQuest3 with an extra battery and I am super-impressed. From top to bottom this is a great quality product. It is presented extremely well in its boxing/packaging and it is all very good quality. I was very happy there is an out port and a provided USB C cale to plug my extra battery in. If you have custom controller covers, those need to be taken off to put in the rechargeable batteries and the old battery covers need to go and replaced with the included covers that provide the conduit for charging. I am super impressed by its design with the ability to charge the batteries without having to remove them. Sitting the controllers in the dock is easy and account for the wrist straps (also an indicator of which controller goes where. I am also a fan of the magnetic USB C attachment that plugs in to the headset (with an extra provided). What I think makes this a bit more fun is each device (headset and two controllers) have their own charging light indicator on the base, purple for charging and blue for full. However, if you do not want to see the lights, you can turn them off with a button in back and it will still chime when you first start charging them. It looks really cool and is a great place to store these when not in use.
